Lask aka Alaska, a Naarm/Melbourne-born DJ, producer, and live act formerly based in Berlin from 2018-2025.

As a kid Lask was exposed to electronic and hiphop music from a young age by her parents. From 3 or 4 years old she was attending events like confest, earthcore and much smaller doofs out in the countryside where she was growing up.

She began her musical journey at 14. After finding a microkorg at her dads, she began jamming over dj shadow tracks and recording the audio in reaper, eventually creating tracks out of the initial dj shadow track she picked. After unsucessfully attending a normal high school. She transferred to a specifically music and arts high school. By 18, she had fully transitioned to electronic music production, using Logic Pro and Ableton Live.

During her teens Lask went to all kinds of warehouse parties,and doofs. She filled her entire teenage years with all types of electronic music and the landscapes that they existed in. Putting all experience together with a combined knowledge of music theory, computers and DAW’s, synthesizers and drum machines, to end up with a seriously strong love and passion for creating music meant for raves and doofs.

In 2016 at age 20, she started DJing, first getting asked to play a gig, and then having to quickly learn to dj in the two weeks before the gig. Things transpired quickly and Lask started gaining recognition in Melbourne's underground scene, playing sometimes up to 5 times a weekend.

In 2018, in what was seeming to be the breakout year in her career in Australia. Lask moved to Berlin in July off the back of a one way holiday, resulting in a total shift of music direction, inspiration and completely new music industry landscape to navigate.

During Covid afer years of djing and producing in Berlin, Lask decided to buy a Digitakt, which re-inspired her love for hardware and resulted in many youtube stream live sets and then in to creating gonzo style tutorials to pass the time of lockdown.

Since going live Lask got the chance to perform in major venues across Berlin and other parts of Germany. Being able to refine her live set in such high profile clubs resulted in a very high standard and a clear vision for what she wants to achieve with music. pure, hardware based, energetic dance music, with no genres attached.

Post covid in Berlin Lask found here self involved with various crews but none stuck harder than the warehouse collective coppi. coppi gave Lask a chance to explore all the different elements of Berlins music industry culture, developing knowledge around warehouse spaces, diy bartending, helping build custom speakers, general events work and more.

At the end of 2025 Lask packed up in Berlin and returned back to Australia, about to turn 30 and having done 8 years in Berlin it felt the right time to head home and compartmentalise everything learned in that time.

Lask has performed at renowned venues and events such as ADE, Tresor, Hoppetosse, Renate, Watergate, and has played at festivals like Fusion festival, Rainbow Serpent, and Tanglewood and more.
